Rates – Fraser Valley Workshops
The cost of the Bringing Baby Home workshop, including a couples workbook and set of playing cards, is $225.
Individual classes can be taken for $40 each, per couple.
Credic card payment can be made through paypal, below. Cash and cheques can be dropped off at Mission Midwifery in advance, or on the first day of class.
The next program will be held in Spring 2015. If you are interested in signing up for all or part of it, please e-mail me to indicate your interest. There is space for 6 couples in a class and spaces are first come, first serve.
I am committed to making Bringing Baby Home accessible to everybody, because I believe every family can benefit from the class. That’s why I offer subsidized spaces in each class. If the cost doesn’t fit into your family’s budget right now, please see below for information about my sliding scale.
Other Ways to Take the Class
- Out of Town?
- BBH can come to you. I can offer BBH courses in Mission, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, Langley, and Chilliwack. Please contact me if you are interested in having a group in your area. Even if you don’t know other couples, I can work with the local birth community to create a larger group.
- Have a group of friends?
- If you have a group of 4 or more couples and would like to host a class, I can teach the class in the comfort of your home (or at Mission Midwifery). This is a great way to strengthen friendships, and a wonderful option for a group that took prenatal classes together. It can also be a way for couples who don’t have child care options to share one child-care provider and still be available for their young children while in the class. Hosts receive a 50% discount!
- Prefer one to one?
- I can meet with couples for a number of private sessions where I can go over all or selected sections of the BBH material. I offer in-home visits as well, because I know how hard it can be to get out as a couple when you have a baby or toddler at home.
- Want to keep it short?
I can offer specific modules of the BBH workshop for community agencies, support groups, prenatal classes, or other organizations. Available modules are:
Regulating conflict and constructive problem solving
Understanding Baby Blues, Post-Partum depression, and other mental health issues
The Sound Relationship House: What are the components of strong relationship?
Connecting with Children and Emotion Coaching
I well understand that having a new baby can bring on new financial constraints. Every class has some sliding scale spaces available, and I can also sometimes offer a “pro bono” class. I hope the sliding scale can make the class accessible to your family during this wonderful transition period in your lives.
How does the sliding scale work?
First contact me to confirm that there are sliding scale spaces still open. No proof or explanations are needed, no questions asked. Then, choose where you belong on the sliding scale:
$100 > $150 > $175 > $200 >$225
For one class, a subsidized space is $20.
I ask only that you consider the amount that will be best for your family and also respectful of the work that I am offering.
Pay that amount through PayPal, above, or by cheque, cash, or e-mail money transfer. You may also choose to pay in installments, just ask.
I also offer a sliding scale for private counselling as follows:
